Intermountain Polygraph Services is a division of Specialty Services for Public Safety a Limited Liability Company. John Pickup is the owner of the company, manager and the principal examiner.
BS in Social Work/Psychology from Brigham Young University.
Twenty years police experience as a Deputy Sheriff including Patrol Officer, K9 Handler, Investigator, Polygraph Examiner, Supervisor and Administrator.
Graduate of the Backster School of Lie Detection in San Diego, California. Eleven years experience performing polygraph exams with several thousand exams conducted to date.
Certified by the American Polygraph Association to conduct Post Conviction Sex Offender Exams.
Member, American Polygraph Association, (APA) American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP) and the Utah Polygraph Association, (UPA).
Chairman State of Utah Detection of Deception Licensing Board.
STAFF-EXAMINERS
Intermountain Polygraph Services employs other qualified examiners to adequately handle increased requests for polygraph services. All IPS examiners are licensed, certified and have extensive police investigative experience. All are members of APA, AAPP and UPA All examiners attend regular continuing education in all aspects of polygraph and investigation.
Mr. Pickup supervises all test planning and preparation and performs quality control review on all IPS examinations
Although it has become popular in the industry to refer to ourselves as "Psychophysiologists", We would still like to be referred to as
"Polygraph Examiners"
